Southern California photography for theater, music, dance & everything on screen.
THEATRE | DANCE | MUSIC | FILM + TV
Great performances deserve great photographs.
Lumos Eleven provides professional entertainment photography throughout Southern California for theater, dance, live music, film and television productions, and web series. From production photos and press kit materials to concerts, behind the scenes coverage, and everything happening when the audience isn’t looking, I’m there to capture the energy of it all.
I spent more than two decades working professionally in theater and live events before photography became my full time creative outlet, so I understand this world from both sides of the camera. I know when to stay out of the way, when the big moments are coming, and how to work with theatrical lighting instead of fighting against it.
The result is bold, cinematic photography that actually feels like the show. Images that capture the performances, honor the work of the designers & performers, and give you high quality photographs you can actually use to promote your production.
Theatre & Dance Photography
This is the Moment…to Seize the Day for your Production Photos!
Great theater photography should feel like the production itself. The performances, lighting, costumes, scenery, movement, and all the work your team put onstage. Whether you need images for press, social media, advertising, programs, or your archives, we can photograph your production in a few different ways.
TRADITIONAL PHOTO CALL
Have time for a dedicated photo call? We’ll create a shot list around your key scenes, characters, and marketing needs, then stage those moments specifically for the camera. This gives us time to refine each shot and create polished production photography ready for posters, press, programs, social media, and more.
LIVE RUN SHOOT
No time for a photo call? I can photograph a final dress rehearsal, preview, or live performance without stopping the show. My background in theater and lighting helps me anticipate cues, blocking, and those big moments while capturing the production exactly as your audience experiences it.
CAST + PRESS PORTRAITS
Need promotional images beyond the stage? We can also create cast portraits, character portraits, key art, and press photos built around the look of your production.
Looking for individual actor headshots? Check out my HEADSHOTS page!
NEED THEM TOMORROW?
I know press and marketing deadlines move fast. Expedited and next day delivery are available when you need production photos ready for reviews, press, opening weekend, or social media.
Music Photography
Music Photography turned up to ELEVEN!
Whether you’re playing to a packed room or getting ready to release something new, great music deserves great visuals.
I photograph live concerts, bands, musicians, and performers throughout Southern California, capturing the energy onstage and everything happening around it. Need something more polished? We can create band portraits, album artwork, press and promotional photos, social media content, and behind the scenes images that fit your sound and your style.
From the stage to the press kit, let’s make something that looks as good as you sound.
On Set Photography
Photographing the Story Behind the Story
From action to cut and everything happening in between, I provide on set photography for film, television, web series, and other productions throughout Southern California.
I can capture production stills, behind the scenes photography, cast and crew at work, and polished promotional images for press, social media, marketing, and your next great poster. I know how important it is to get the shot without getting in the way, so I work around your production and capture the people, energy, and work that goes into bringing your story to life.

I’ll get back to you within 48 hours, we’ll talk through the details, figure out what makes sense, and get it on the calendar.
Then you do your thing, and I’ll make sure you have some great photographs to show for it.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
I’m based in the San Gabriel Valley and photograph productions, performances, and events throughout Southern California, including Los Angeles and Orange County. If your project takes us a little farther, reach out and tell me what you have going on. I’m always open to traveling for something cool.
Travel fees may apply depending on the location.
-
Turnaround depends on the type and size of the shoot, and we’ll go over that when you book. But I also know that in entertainment, sometimes you needed the photos yesterday.
If you have an opening night, press deadline, social media campaign, review, or another reason you need images quickly, expedited and next day delivery options are available. Just let me know what you need when you inquire and we’ll make a plan.
-
Absolutely. This is actually one of my favorite ways to shoot.
I spent more than two decades working in theater and live events, so I understand how a show moves and, more importantly, how to stay out of its way. I’m comfortable working around audiences, performers, crew, cues, scene changes, and all the controlled chaos happening behind the scenes.
-
Yes. Most of my entertainment photography is created specifically to give you great images you can actually use for press, social media, websites, programs, promotional materials, and marketing your production or event.
Usage rights can vary depending on the project and how the photographs will be used, so we’ll make sure that’s clear when you book. If you have a specific advertising campaign or commercial use in mind, just let me know.
-
Definitely. We can create cast and character portraits, band and artist photos, promotional images, executive portraits, key art, press kit materials, and other photography built around whatever you’re promoting.
If you’re looking specifically for individual actor, performer, or professional headshots, check out my Headshot Photography page for those sessions.
-
Absolutely. Sometimes what’s happening behind the scenes is just as interesting as what’s happening in front of the audience or camera.
I can capture rehearsals, backstage activity, sound checks, cast and crew at work, hair and makeup, production setup, candid moments, and all the work that goes into making the finished thing happen. Behind the scenes photography can be added to your coverage or be the whole reason I’m there.
-
Yes! I work with schools, colleges, theater programs, dance programs, bands, choirs, and other performing arts organizations throughout Southern California.
Whether you need production photos from the school musical, coverage of a concert or dance performance, cast portraits, or great images to promote your performing arts program, reach out and tell me what you’re working on.
-
Nothing too complicated. Mainly, I need to know what we’re shooting, when and where it’s happening, and what you need the photographs for.
Depending on the project, I may also ask for a schedule, run of show, call sheet, shot list, or a few must have moments you know you’ll need. We’ll talk through all of that beforehand so when I show up, I already know what matters most to you.

Please don’t turn up the lights for me!
I spent years working as a theatrical lighting designer, so challenging lighting is kind of my happy place. Concert lighting, saturated color, spotlights, projections, dark stages, LEDs, and mixed lighting are all part of photographing live entertainment.
My goal isn’t to fight the lighting or make your production look brighter than it actually was. It’s to work with the light that’s already there, honor the designer’s work, and create photographs that look and feel like the show you actually made.
The one exception can be some laser projectors, especially when we’re combining very low light with fast moving action like dance. Cameras and certain projection systems don’t always play nicely together. If we run into that, I’ll work with your lighting and production team to find the best balance between preserving the design and getting a great photograph.
